Dr Mark Aldridge

Agatha Christie historian and speaker

About Dr Mark Aldridge

An academic, speaker and historian, specialising in the world of Agatha Christie.

My most recent book, which tells the story of Hercule Poirot on page, stage and screen, was published in late 2020 by HarperCollins in the UK. You can order it from almost anywhere that sells books, including Hive, Book Depository (which ships internationally), Amazon UK, or (ideally) an independent bookseller.

In 2016 my book Agatha Christie on Screen was published, a comprehensive guide to the film and television adaptations of the ‘Queen of Crime’.  You can order it here or at the retailer of your choice.

I am a regular speaker at Agatha Christie events and often undertake media appearances. You can contact me agathachristieonscreen@gmail.com or via Twitter.

I am also Associate Professor of Screen Histories at Solent University, Southampton, UK.

Bloomsbury Handbook to Agatha Christie

I was very pleased to take delivery of this new book about you-know-who. It was lovely to be asked by the editors to contribute a chapter about adaptations. It’s a very expensive book, apparently designed for libraries, so ask yours if you fancy reading it!
